This software combines powerful features for home, interior, and landscape design. The Pro edition not only includes advanced home and terrain design tools but also offers superior export quality, an Elevation View mode, and a variety of light and material editing options. It is particularly effective for more complex designs, such as those with different ceiling heights, slanted ceilings, and half-height walls. Roofs can extend through walls with minimal adjustments. However, I had trouble cutting a hole in the floor for a cupola. While ceiling holes are usually effective, they don’t work when another floor is above. I couldn’t create two different floor heights in the attic. Although I built walls of varying heights by adding stories, Live Home 3D Pro Edition for Mac left gaps in the walls due to the minimum ½-inch foundation requirement for each story.
On the positive side, the 3D capabilities are excellent, and I appreciate how the shading and lighting function. However, windows and doors frequently failed to align properly across multiple stories. Despite my efforts, I couldn’t resolve this issue. I hope there is a way to construct various stories that align perfectly, but I have not yet found it, which I believe is contributing to the window-and-door misalignment problem.
A significant improvement would be to allow for adjustable wall heights, create lines to indicate transitions—such as where a sloped ceiling ends and a flat ceiling begins—and eliminate specific automatic dimensions. Overall, the program is excellent for most one- or two-story homes and is reasonably priced for most users. Since I’ve only owned the pro version for less than a month, I recognize that I may still have much to learn.
